Our Story
Every great neighborhood bar has a story. Ours began nearly fifty years ago.
In 1976, Nancy’s father, Tom, purchased the William Penn Tavern. For the next 16 years, he built more than just a business—he created a gathering place where friends, neighbors, and families came together. It was a place where everyone knew your name, celebrations were shared, and lifelong friendships were formed.
When Tom stepped away, the tradition continued. Nancy’s mother, Marie, took over ownership and renamed it Marie’s Kozy Korner. For the next 32 years, Marie became a familiar face behind the bar, serving generations of loyal customers while creating the warm, welcoming atmosphere that made the establishment a local institution. Under her leadership, the bar became more than a place to grab a drink—it became a second home for so many in the community.
Growing up in that environment, Nancy witnessed firsthand what it meant to own a neighborhood bar. She began working in the family business at just 18 years old, learning every aspect of the operation—from serving customers and managing the day-to-day business to understanding that the true success of a neighborhood bar isn’t measured by sales, but by the relationships built inside its walls.
In July 2024, Nancy and her husband Jason took ownership as the third generation of the family to operate the establishment. Together, they set out to honor the legacy built by Nancy’s parents while creating a new chapter for future generations.
The name McLawson’s represents exactly that new beginning. It combines Nancy’s married name, Lawson, with her daughter Karlyn’s married name, McTague. The name isn’t about the past—it’s about family, legacy, and building something that can continue for generations to come.
Today, McLawson’s Corner Bar & Grill proudly carries forward nearly five decades of neighborhood tradition while embracing a fresh vision for the future. Recognized as one of Bucks County’s premier sports bars, McLawson’s has become known for great food, cold drinks, outstanding service, and an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
